Acqua di Civita

Fragile like a nest, majestic like a fortress, and magical like Rivendell, the elven city in The Lord of the Rings, Civita di Bagnoregio enchants thousands of visitors from all over the world. Nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site, featured in animated masterpieces like Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki, and part of projects that could redefine Italian hospitality—under the guidance of Airbnb, which has embraced Civita to welcome tourists into “Art Houses”—Civita is still known today as “The Dying City” because of the erosion that causes the village’s walls to thin by centimeters each year, and especially because of the few remaining inhabitants, who can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

We, the three siblings—Silvia, Daniela, and Andrea—believe that Civita is a source of life, because we were fortunate enough to be born in this enchanted land, and we think it has everything needed to be remembered as a delicate gem, suspended in space and time, immortal. That’s why we dedicate ourselves every day to ensuring its eternal memory.
